The growth of Christianity in the early centuries of the Common Era is one of the most extraordinary stories in world history. Daniel’s prayer and seventy-week prophecy in Daniel 9 is unique and epic. With Israel being in exile nearly seven decades, Daniel was eager for the nation’s physical and spiritual restoration. However, the Lord revealed that His plans for Israel would reach into the distant future, encompassing a period of seventy weeks. In this remarkable revelation, God outlined a precise chronology when Christ would come and die to achieve redemption, and when the Antichrist would rise and reign but ultimately be destroyed.

The resurrection is the pivot on which all of Christianity turns and without which none of the other truths would much matter. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christianity would be mere wishful thinking, taking its place alongside all other systems of human philosophy and religious speculation. Paul, however, declares that Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, therefore all who are in Christ Jesus will also be raised to life.
