Pirates of Venus is a fantasy book by American author Edgar Rice Burroughs, first published in 1932. It is the first book in the Venus series (also called the Amtor series), that consists of five novels in total. The book was initially serialised in the pulp magazine Argosy, and the events in it occur on the plant Venus (known to it's inhabitants as Amtor). A beautiful but deadly world, Amtor is home to immortal beings who live in enormous trees because ferocious beasts stalk the wilderness below.
