Im Jahr 2006, als sich die Welt noch ohne Smartphones und Navi drehte, unternahm der Autor, damals mittelloser Student in Berlin, eine knapp dreiwöchige, 2400 km lange Radreise von seinem ostsächsischen Heimatdorf über die Alpen und durch Südfrankreich bis an den Atlantik. Gewappnet mit Straßenkarte, Kompass, einem Zelt und wenig Geld kämpft er sich anfangs über Feld- und Waldwege durch Deutschland. Wie soll er so bis nach Westfrankreich kommen?
