In this lesson, you will learn a neo-classical guitar solo of “Dust in the Wind” by Kansas. The solo is fully demonstrated at the beginning of the lesson and then the entire arrangement is taught by ear in small sections. When you learn by ear, you not only learn the song more quickly, you learn it in such a way that you build your skills for picking out other songs “by ear”. This lesson is rated at a level three difficulty.

Die Hochzeit des Figaro gilt als Höhepunkt der Oper und eines der größten Werke des Genies Mozart. Es begründet die Zusammenarbeit zweier Meister ihres Fachs: Des Komponisten Mozarts, mit dem Librettisten Lorenzo da Ponte. Die literarische Vorlage war ein Skandalstück, das den Autoren ins Gefängnis brachte, der Zensur zum Opfer fiel und überhaupt für Furore sorgte. Ludwig XVI urteilte: „Wenn ich dieses Stück genehmigen würde, müsste ich konsequenterweise gleich die Bastille einreißen.“

Die Zauberflöte ist eine der bekanntesten Opern und ein zeitloses Meisterwerk. Schon Kinder pfeifen den „Vogelfänger” und die Rachearie der Königin mit ihren waghalsigen Koloraturen ist unvergesslich.
