Der US-amerikanische Pionier Alvin Curran nutzt in seiner Komposition "On Hearing the Brooklyn Bridge sing in Yiddish" den Klangdom des ZKM Karlsruhe als fiktiven Ort und spezifischen Raum, der mit dem dialogischen Spiel zweier "Disklaviere" korrespondiert. Durch eine Auswahl aus einem "alle Klänge der Welt" umfassenden und über Jahrzehnte gesammelten Klangarchiv, eröffnet Curran über die Klavierklänge hinaus einen weiten poetischen und konkreten Erinnerungsraum, in dessen Zentrum die Brooklyn-Bridge steht.
