In 1862, William Nicholson shared his views on our soul. He states that religion has already been planted within us. But it takes great work and nourishment to master it and maintain the progress toward eternity.

Death is a rather sinister and taboo topic but for Christians, it is one of relief. The Bible teaches us all how to die, and William Nicholson stresses the importance of life as a preparation. In order to gain the glory promised after death, Christ must always be present before it and be a prevailing force in our lives.

Where the body has its own healer in doctor, we also need one for our soul. The teachings and sacrifice of Christ can often serve as a spiritual balm but full acceptance of his divinity can serve a far greater purpose. William Nicholson explains how only the deeply religious can recognize their own spiritual disease and accept Christ as a physician of the soul.

We tend to leave a will to divide goods and possessions, but Christ left a will as well. William Nicholson explains to us the nature of Christ’s will. He states how this will is a gracious one and will be constituted once we accept the life and teachings of Christ.

Christianity is, in a sense, the great equalizer giving endless chances to the pious and sinner both. And even though it may not seem that way, Judgement day takes equality to the next level. William Nicholson expands on the great work a mortal life entails and how only our actions will determine how eternity will be spent.

18th century Puritan preacher William Nicholson shares his view on the triumphs and glory of the church. There is only one real church, which is the church of purity and perfection in heaven. But to reach this divine church, the temporal one was built here on Earth as a practice and reminder of our ultimate goal and future glory.

Where we all face difficulties in our lives, it is our view on life which defines how we approach it. William Nicholson points out that the religious are guaranteed the greatest comfort of all. With every difficulty a Christian faces, they will feel the presence and comfort of God.
