Den mäktiga resande magiker-ponnyn Trixie är tillbaka i Ponyville! Hon vill utföra sitt största magitrick någonsin, för att bli inbjuden till hemligt magiker-sällskap. I jakt på en passande mantel råkar Trixie ut för en magisk olycka. Hon får förmågan att göra om vardagliga ting till ädelstenar. Först tycker Trixie att det är ett spännande magitrick som hon kan använda för att imponera andra ponnyer. Men snart märker hon att hennes nya krafter leder till mer problem än glädje, och hennes vänner Rarity och Twilight Sparkle måste rycka in för att rädda Trixie från sig själv.

Pinkie Pie har alltid varit lite annorlunda jämfört med resten av sin familj. När familjeföretaget stenfarmen börjar gå dåligt kommer Pinkie Pie på idén att försöka rädda företaget genom att arrangera en stenhård rockkonsert. Pinkie Pies familj tycker inte om hennes idé, de tror inte att den är seriös nog.

Prinsessan Twilight Sparkle har svårt att känna sig som en kunglighet. Att vara en prinsessa är ett stort ansvar - en dag är det ju hon som ska styra hela Equestria. För att förbereda sig själv söker hon genom alla böcker i Gyllene Ekens bibliotek för att se om hon kan hitta några råd om hur hon ska vara en bra prinsessa. När hon inte får hjälp av böckerna börjar hon fråga andra ponnyer om hjälp, och prinsessan Celestia berättar att när hon var ny som prinsessa tog hon hjälp av en förtrollning som hjälper unga prinsessor.

Snart är det dags för den årliga Fina fluffiga vänners marknad och för Fluttershy är det årets höjdpunkt. När hennes kanin Angel visar intresse för att delta i en av tävlingarna att valla kor och får blir Fluttershy förvånad. En liten kanin kan väl inte valla så stora djur? Fluttershy och Angel börjar ändå träna, men Fluttershy är nervös för att hon och hennes vän ska göra bort sig inför hela Ponyville under tävlingen. När allt känns som mest hopplöst kommer alla Fluttershys vänner för att hjälpa till, så att Angel ska kunna visa sig från sin bästa sida i tävlingen.

Prinsessan Celestia ska lämna Canterlot för att resa till sin goda vän hertiginnan Diamond Waves, och hennes magiskola Monacolt. Diamond Waves har haft problem på skolan, och Prinsessan Celestia har lovat att hjälpa till med undervisningen och eleverna. Diamond Waves visar ett magiskt timglas för Celestia. Sanden, och tiden, är på väg att rinna ut. Legenden säger att när sanden har runnit ut så kommer Monacolt att attackeras av monster. Samtidigt får hon nyheter om att en gigantisk krabba hotar Canterlot.
