ルパンの魅了は紳士にして泥棒、変装の名人でいくつもの変名を持ち、貴族の城館などを襲い宝石や美術品、貴重な家具などを盗んでいきます。その反面、善良な人を助けるいわば義賊的性格を併せ持っていることでしょう。本ドラマでもその魅力は余すことなく発揮されています。対するホームズも、実在の人物のように思われ、ベーカー街には事件の解決を依頼する手紙が届くほどです。そんなふたりが対決するこのドラマ。面白くないはずがありません。
