Sectioned under the Mental Health Act in his early 40s, and with decades of personal research into his symptoms and triggers, he has become a scholar of his mind. His battle is one fought with the dual swords of mindfulness techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy, both of which have been instrumental in reining in his runaway thoughts.
Now he commits to helping others both through his writing and as a workplace mental health confidant, mental health first aider, and a trained suicide awareness first point of call. He is also a member of the Orange Button Community scheme, whose members are ready to listen and talk with anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts. Additionally, he is a member of the Association of Mental Health First Aiders.
