Born in a hospital as it was bombed during a revolution, the rest of her upbringing in the countryside of Kent has been relatively peaceful. She holds an MA in English Literature and has taught English for more than twenty-five years.
When she isn't writing, Amanda spends her time trying to find the perfect way to make popcorn, watching her labradoodle run like a galloping horse, and reading brilliant novels that make her feel bitter and jealous.
