ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Angel (Terry) Sexton is a Jesus-loving, God-fearing believer whose life has been shaped by the gentle
whisper of God’s calling. Raised in rural Appalachia, she learned early the power of prayer, the strength
of faith, and the beauty of trusting God in both the mountains and the valleys of life. These truths
breathe through every word she writes.
For over 23 years, Angel has helped serve abused and neglected children through the Children’s
Center of the Cumberlands, where she now serves as Executive Director and CEO. Her calling, rooted
in compassion and guided by the Holy Spirit, has allowed her to be a vessel of hope for families walking
through unimaginable darkness. The ministry of the Children’s Center, initially fondly called “Grandma’s
House,” continues to inspire her writing and reminds her daily that God still heals, restores, and brings
beauty from broken places.
Angel’s future books, ranging from children’s safety stories to devotionals, are deeply grounded in
Scripture and in the belief that God hears the heart’s cry. Her desire is that every reader, child or adult,
feels seen, valued, and held by the Father who never leaves His children.
When she is not working and advocating for children, Angel enjoys creating, writing, serving her
community, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, who are constant reminders of God’s
blessings, goodness, and grace.
Angel’s mission is simple: to shine the light of Jesus, to speak hope into hurting hearts, and to remind
the world that God is faithful in every season.
Because God calls us to bring hope to His children, royalties from this book, Lucia, the Brave Helper will be donated to the Children’s Center to help support the ministry to abused and neglected children on their path to healing.
