Angela Grey has created memorable moving tales about the sometimes unexpected and challenging road to first love: Secret Whispers (a story about schizophrenia), Déjà vu (a tale about a teen with bipolar disorder), and Of Laughter & Heartbreak (a piece about obsessive-compulsive disorder). Another YA/teen account is Prologue to an Epitaph, which is based on a true story of teen pregnancy and the struggle of her preemie. A still younger account that is also inspired by a true story is A Childhood Lost to the Wind, which tells of a life of childhood and adolescent abuse. Her latest fiction novels are Echoes of the Past, Dancing Without Music, and Lake of Secrets, which she co-authored with Paige Peterson. Echoes of the Past and Lake of Secrets are loosely inspired by a number of local Minnesota news events. Then there's Sifting Through a Storied Past, which is a collection of poetry and prose, a transcendental journey about ancestry, relationships, alcoholism, mental illness, abuse, love, loss, hate, the elusiveness of reality, and the painfulness of words for those of us who love too profoundly and shatter too easily. It spans the darkest moments, aiming toward kindness, forgiveness, growth, healing, and serenity by releasing the stories of a once-broken soul to find ultimate closure. This collection is a heart-wrenching expression of pain, longing, heartbreak, true love, and our souls' dark and spiritual side, simplified in brief but pensive pieces. She is a novelist, poet, and painter who enjoys yoga and spirituality classes. Currently, Angela resides in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with her family. As a mental illness survivor, she is also a strong mental health advocate. Other hobbies include Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), camping, and budget travel, particularly to Maine, Oregon, and the coastal Carolinas.
