Hi, I’m Anh Mian, author of Girl Unlearned and In My Skin, I Shine, and a mother of two.
I write about identity, motherhood, and breaking generational cycles. About questioning what we were taught, finding our voices, and deciding what we want to pass on to our children.
I write for the girl I used to be. For the women still unlearning silence. For the ones learning how to soften without shrinking. My memoir work brings together personal stories and reflections on reclaiming yourself while still figuring things out.
My children’s books carry that same care into a different part of life. They celebrate brown skin, self-worth, and belonging, helping children feel seen and proud of who they are from the beginning.
I’m also the founder of AM Books, an independent imprint that brings these stories together.
At home, I’m raising my daughter and son with my husband, learning alongside them and trying to put what I write into practice. My hope is that something in these pages helps you feel less alone, or gives you words for something you’ve felt but couldn’t quite explain.
