Anthony R. Candela writes fiction, memoir, and essays. With his co-author, Julianna M. Kodis, he wrote the romance adventure novel Fire On the Desert Sands. A prequel is in manuscript form, and a sequel is on the drawing board. His other books are Stand Up or Sit Out, a memoir about life as a blind athlete; Vision Dreams: A Parable, a dystopian science fiction novella; and What Should Not Remain Silent, a collection of essays.
Now retired, Tony spent more than 45 years in the field of blindness and visual impairment, helping blind people succeed at work, and received the Steven Garff Marriott Award for lifetime achievement from the American Foundation for the Blind. He is also a retired wrestler and long distance runner who loves movies, sports, reading, music, and dabbling on the guitar. He shares his essays regularly on Facebook.
