Arnie Benn is an award-winning author, scientist-entrepreneur, inventor, and principal and founding member of the Quantum Bicycle Society — Quicycle — an international physics think tank devoted to foundational science. He holds degrees in chemistry and music and has worked across the technology, entertainment, education, and entrepreneurial sectors.

His scientific interests include electromagnetic field theory, toroidal field configurations, and the physical foundations of quantum mechanics. At Quicycle, he helps sustain a collaborative program extending from theoretical physics into deep-technology research and invention.

Benn’s nonfiction book 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓 examines how human survival instinct shapes emotion, consciousness, relationships, group behavior, and the societies we create. It explores how greater emotional intelligence and wisdom can help us recognize automatic biological reactions and respond more consciously.

His hard science fiction novel, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒅: 𝑫𝒂𝒘𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓 𝑨𝒈𝒆, follows humanity’s first interstellar missions, combining scientifically grounded speculation with suspense, mystery, and the human consequences of discovery. The novel has received multiple book awards, including the Gold Medal in the FAPA President’s Book Awards.

Raised in Kimberley, South Africa, Benn has lived in the United States since 1990. Across science, nonfiction, and fiction, his work investigates hidden structures — within matter, within human behavior, and within the possible futures we are creating. At the heart of that work is one recurring question: how can deeper understanding help humanity become wiser, freer, and more fully conscious?
