Cynthia Young is a practicing licensed Federal Attorney in District of Columbia whose focus areas are Bankruptcy and Social Security Appeals. She is also a real estate investor, Financial Analyst, Contract Asset Recovery Agent, motivational speaker, owner of Credit Beast, Incorporated and now an author. She holds a BA in Political Science/Pre-Law from Michigan State University, an MA in Economics from University of Detroit and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern-TMSL. Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, she now spends her time between, LA, Washington DC and Detroit. Cynthia has appeared in The Detroit News, on local talk shows and previously hosted her own weekly show entitled “Your Mind and Your Money” with co-host Dr. Francine Sims. Attorney Young has participated for several years as a Volunteer Attorney/Member for Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated “Ask A Lawyer” program.
Under the tollage of The Honorable Wesley Steen (Retired Texas Bankruptcy Judge) she learned the intricate details of the bankruptcy process. While working for Judge Steen she travelled between Houston and Laredo, Texas where she obtained the experience of diverse groups of people and learned the dire straits of individuals’ finances. Cynthia returned to her roots in 2002, eager to help her community obtain a financial fresh start. She provided free seminars and intake at community centers and has since filed over 9000 cases, while also representing a municipality whose constituents had filed for bankruptcy.
In order to get her financial message across to an even greater audience Cynthia has now written a book, You Deserve All The Credit: A Financial Guide With Proven Steps to Fix Your Credit, Manage Your Spending and Create Income. In it, Cynthia uses all of her experience to show her readers exactly how they can improve their financial situation, no matter how bad it is- Pre or Post Bankruptcy!
