Born and raised in Southern Minnesota, Ben graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College and afterwards spent a summer as a wilderness guide on Lake Superior. Contemplating the Bible with others in nature initiated a desire to know Christ more deeply, even becoming single-minded in seeking Him.
Ben currently lives in St. Paul, MN, where he has led groups on exploring the path of Loving Without Conditions. His last few decades have been devoted to love and surrender through Christ.
