Bess Hendrick lives with her husband, three dogs and a cat in rural Jefferson County at the edge of the Olympic Rain Forest, where she enjoys hiking, camping and boating.
Welcoming the Rain is her first novel; the second, Mind of Milya, is slated for publication in early 2025, with a third to be released in late 2025.
Like her character Raymie in Welcoming the Rain, she has served many years in the helping professions despite a visual impairment. Unlike Raymie, she has never had any talent for dancing.
