I count my age in travel trips and dreams. I believe in independent, unguided adventure - backpacking, sleeping in huts and campervans, hitchhiking, giving lifts, motorcycling, crossing rivers and mountains, leaving the comfort zone, taking risks and getting scared, taking the road less travelled. I believe that travel is hard work - learning about a different culture, living with and like the locals, going home changed (or not returning home at all).
I think we should desire less, consume less, walk more, recycle more, turn down the heat, use renewables, share what we have.
I believe the world would be a better place if we were nice to somebody every day.
We need to plant more trees - there are too many people in the world and not enough wildlife.
We do not own the land - Nature should remain open to everybody who leaves no trace.
I think most people are basically good, but most politicians are out of our control.
Take time to meditate.
