Brandon Scranton was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, where a deep-rooted sense of public service and a fascination with history helped shape his path as both a first responder and a writer. With over 29 years of experience as a Critical Care Paramedic, Brandon has served in a wide range of roles—from 911 metropolitan and county-based EMS to helicopter flight paramedicine and hospital-based critical care. He has also proudly served for 15 years as a Reserve and Part-Time Police Officer.
Brandon’s lifelong interest in his Dutch and English heritage, paired with frequent travels to the Netherlands, inspired the creation of his debut novel, Secrets in the Shadows of House Nassau—a historical murder mystery set against the backdrop of a royal Dutch estate.
In September 2025, Brandon moved to the Netherlands. Brandon will be working on his second book of the series shortly.
