Brendan Borrell is the author of The First Shots, the inside account of Operation Warp Speed that People magazine called “a stunning look at politics, greed, ego – and scientific brilliance,” and Power Soak, about the MIT-trained engineer who founded the rock band Boston and spent nearly a decade fighting for control of his music.
His essays and investigations have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Esquire, National Geographic, and Rolling Stone. Originally from Texas, Borrell earned a Ph.D. in biology from UC Berkeley before turning to journalism full-time. He lives in Los Angeles.
