Brittany Baker was born near Louisville, Kentucky in the fall of 1996. She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Purdue University in 2019. Currently, she is following up her education in graduate school, majoring in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in Marriage & Family Therapy. Inspired by several black authors and the world around her, Brittany wrote her first novel The Season of Autumn at thirteen years old and followed up with the sequel at fourteen years old. Inspired by personal trial and error in her early college days, at 20, Brittany set forth to create The Reign Series. Written as shortened novels to introduce busy or reluctant readers to mental health topics, the series continues to explore powerful themes to ignite discussion on mental health in the black community. Between schooling, Brittany continues to write and advocate for mental health in minority communities.
