I grew up in the Midwest and have traveled abroad, which made me more attentive and discerning of various cultures. After retiring from the Central Intelligence Agency, I left the Washington, D. C.-type area and moved to the friendlier and more reasonably priced town of Mobile, Alabama. In Mobile, I dedicated my skills to the nonprofit sector, serving with Mobile Baykeeper (mobilebaykeeper. org) as an AmeriCorps volunteer and later Chief Human Resources Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama (bgcsa. org). I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
