Carlton Holden is a fiction author of Holden: A Collection II, Génocidaires Rwanda, The Pumper, The Damascene Court, Holden: A Collection, Stand-Up On A Leash, Naija Baby, Trust Issues: A Collection of Short Stories, S.O.O.T. (also in German as S.O.O.T.: Eine Abgehobene Trainerin and Portuguese as S.O.O.T.: Uma treinadora fora do controle), and co-author of When Leaves Cry (also in Spanish as Cuando Las Hojas Lloran). His freshman nonfiction book Sub: A Brief Guide to Staying Above Water in the Classroom (French Edition Le Professeur Suppléant : Un Bref Guide Pour Garder La Tête Hors de L'eau dans La Salle de Classe now available) highlights his background in education, while his sophomore nonfiction work Brush Up On Your German (Poliert Euer Deutsch Auf) and his latest companion workbook by the same name combine teaching with his lifelong love of German and with his faith in the power of practice. He studied German at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and in college, which included living and studying in Bavaria, Germany after high school in Siegsdorf/Traunstein, as a German major from Georgetown at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, and throughout Germany with Berlin and the former East Germany being favorites. He loves travel, television/movies, music, reading, and languages and linguistics. Tennis and boxing are his favorite sports. His hometown Augusta, Georgia is dear to his heart.
