Editor, curator, and project manager for In the Path of Jane Austen: Travels and Tales, Carol S. Bowes is a retired business person who likes to travel, eat dessert, and put the two together. As a result of the latter, she finds she must exercise more than she’d like!
Due to her love of Jane Austen Fan Fiction (JAFF) (she reads nearly 100 JAFF books a year), Bowes drifted into editing for her friends, then for a small traditional publisher. As of the publication of In the Path of Jane Austen: Travels and Tales, she has content edited 26 books. Under another name, she contributed with beta (line) editing or cold reading for an additional 18 published JAFF books, beta read two unpublished JAFF modern novel-length stories, and has assisted authors with plot or editing advice on a number of other historical fiction books.
She once dabbled with writing her own memoirs, but decided that some stories are best left untold.
