Carolyn O'Neal was born in Norfolk, Virginia, three blocks from the Chesapeake Bay. A lifelong environmentalist, Carolyn is an active member of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and is the regional coordinator for the Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program. She is a beekeeper and currently lives in Charlottesville.
