Casey Dunne is an artist, healer, and author of the contemporary novels The Bones of the Mountain and The Blood of the Forest as well as the poetry books Embodied Relating and Soul Invitation. She holds her Master's in Mental Health Counseling concentrating in Body Psychotherapy from Naropa University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Casey currently works as a therapist in Denver, Colorado and lives close by with her partner and her dog, Athena. As an author and artist, Casey seeks to illuminate the often-unacknowledged darker aspects of the human condition. The author of The Queen of Lyria Trilogy creates fantastical characters that are relatable through their struggles with trauma, relationships, and society itself. She dreams of worlds beyond our own, of gods and monsters, dragons and galaxies. Casey writes as a way to give life to those worlds and to come into deeper relationship with the unconscious. She wonders what we as humans can learn from the stories in our hearts—what knowledge of the body, mind, and soul is yet to be discovered within.
