Clare C-Saunders started working as an author in 2015 after being inspired to write the book she wanted but couldn't find for her young daughter upon getting her first pair of glasses. The Princess Fairy's Spectacular Spectacles is an uplifting fairytale about how glasses will improve your life. Not being able to write a story for one child without doing one for her other, Clare also wrote George and the Giant Sunflower, both of these stories are to be found in Clare's first published book, Seven Nights of Snuggles. This and all of Clare's books have been illustrated by her daughter, Rose. During Covid lockdowns Clare decided to re-write a short story that was originally intended for her first book, but not quite fitting it'd been put aside. This later became a middle grade trilogy of novels called Charlotte and Arthur's Adventures. Book one, Yule & the Helter Skelter is set in a mystical winter wonderland where the children discover magic. Book two, The Pumpkin Portal is a Halloween adventure which sees the children coming into their own magical powers. Book three sees the well loved characters unite upon a quest to find a rare crystal dragon egg in order to defeat the evil Gnome King and bring on the season of Ostara. This series is published by Fisher King Publishing Ltd, who, along with Clare, offer great deals on their books for small independent book shops. Clare supports her local book stores as well as libraries and book festivals with regular author readings and signings. Clare is a proud member of The Society of Authors. As well as writing books Clare has written, produced, directed and starred in a radio play of Snow White, which aired on local radio. She wrote and directed an internet safety campaign for children entitled, The Internet Wizard, a series of short radio plays explaining internet safety to children, airing on local radio during school holidays. Clare has always been a keen writer and storyteller, winning (aged only 11 years old) a Young Environmentalist Award for a story about a family of rabbits, with a plot about the destruction of the environment and its impact on nature. As well as being an author and mother Clare is an actress/singer/voiceover artist with over 30 years of industry experience. Her work has taken her from Europe to LA. Recent work includes performing her own stories into audiobooks and voiceover artist in a series of adverts for the Strictly Ballroom touring musical show, directed by Craig Revel Horwood.
