Born and raised in Southern California, Cody W Urban has been telling stories for as long as he can remember, since back when he dictated them to his mom because he was too young to spell. From short stories and comics to unfinished books, then screenplays and novels, storytelling has always been at the heart of his life.
After earning his B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge, Cody built a career in creative media, from televised journalism to motion graphics and illustration for major films and TV shows. Along the way, he has authored multiple novels, nonfiction works, and a children’s book.
He now lives in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon with his wife, Heather, and their three children. Beyond writing, Cody works in advocacy for personalized learning and school choice, while continuing to pursue his passion for design, animation, and storytelling.
