Daniel Reidmiller was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He resides in Otsego, Michigan with his wife, Marcia and their rescued Labrador, Grace. Dan and his wife have six grandchildren, and it was while reading books to them that he began to think about writing a children's book of his own for them.
Dan developed the idea for Rudy the Rougarou, while in the French Quarter of New Orleans, discussing a friend's recently published children's book, Little Laveau. Dan's first book, ‘Rudy the Rougarou – An Unknown Intruder,’ was released in 2017 and it was followed by ‘Rudy the Rougarou – Bully No More,’ which was released in 2018. The third book in the Rudy series, Rudy the Rougarou No One is Perfect is now available.
Book 1 in the series deals with being afraid of the unknown. Book 2 deals with bullying. Book 3 deals disability and bullying; it book shows how someone who has Tourette's syndrome is really no different than anyone else
