Daniel Allison is a Scottish oral storyteller who learnt his craft from Scottish elders. After years of apprenticeship and telling the tales across Scotland, he wrote the USA Today bestseller Scottish Myths & Legends, followed by Scottish Myths & Legends Volume II, Irish Mythology: The Children of Danu and Irish Mythology: Fionn & the Fianna.
Daniel hosts the House of Legends Mythology Podcast, leads retreats in the Scottish Highlands and teaches a year-long apprenticeship in Celtic mythology. He has taken Celtic stories to stages across the world, from Irish villages to Hebridean hilltops, Arabian markets, Indian theatres and global festivals.
The Orkney Cycle is Daniel’s historical fantasy series. Inspired by the tales he tells orally, it fuses fast-paced fantasy with selkies, kelpies, warring pagan tribes and dark magic in Ancient Orkney. It has been optioned for film and television.
