About the Author
David A. Bogart has always had a fascination with history and the stories hidden within it. He enjoys taking real places and events from the past and imagining the people, mysteries, and adventures that might have unfolded there.
For many years, becoming a published author was a dream. Life, family, and responsibilities kept that dream on hold until the loss of his soulmate changed his perspective. During a difficult period of grief, David turned to writing and discovered that the words he put on paper became both an outlet and a source of healing.
What began as a way to cope eventually became a passion. Since then, he has published eight books, ranging from fiction to nonfiction. Return to the Freedom Crossing brings together two of his greatest interests—history and storytelling—while allowing him to explore the rich and fascinating history of Binghamton, New York.
David is the father of four children and the grandfather of four grandchildren. He also shares his life with Angel, his loyal four-legged companion.
He continues to write because there are still stories waiting to be told, places waiting to be explored, and pieces of the past waiting to be brought back to life.
