David Cornue is a screenwriter, story consultant, and the founder of Every Story. He started as a classical composer, spending a decade in New York writing plays and scores before turning to television and film. That background in orchestration shapes how he thinks about story: many moving parts working together, not one line carrying the weight alone.
After moving to Los Angeles, Cornue went through the Fox Writers Lab and was selected for the first class of Imagine Impact, the development program founded by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. His pilot Unspeakable, directed by Milena Govich, premiered at SXSW and won Best Pilot at multiple festivals. ABC and 20th Television ordered a pilot of his medical drama Triage, directed by Jon M. Chu. He is adapting Stephen King’s Insomnia for television.
Cornue has spent the past decade coaching writers—screenwriters, novelists, playwrights, and composers—many of whom have gone on to sell projects, staff writers’ rooms, and publish books. That coaching practice led to Stop Writing!, a book and companion software platform built on a single premise: the most common mistake killing a story is writing it too soon.
