David Doersch is an author, fight director, and musician whose work is shaped by a lifelong engagement with physical storytelling. Before turning his focus to fiction, he spent years as a professional fight director, choreographing stage combat for theatrical productions and arena spectaculars, and teaching the craft to performers and students. This hands-on experience with blades, historical research, and movement deeply informs the vivid action and grounded physicality of his writing.
In parallel with his theatrical career, Doersch has worked as a Celtic musician, developing a strong sense of rhythm, timing, and emotional pacing—elements that carry through into his prose. Whether composing a scene of quiet tension or explosive conflict, he approaches storytelling with the same discipline and artistry demanded by live performance.
He lives and writes in North Carolina, where he continues to explore the intersection of movement, music, and narrative on the page.
