Deane Waldman, MD, MBA is the author of Curing the Cancer in U.S. Healthcare and eleven other books as well as more than 250 articles and monographs. After nearly fifty years as a pediatric cardiologist, educator, researcher, medical administrator and public policy advisor, Dr. Deane is in a unique position to help readers break free of the nightmare we call our healthcare system. Dr. Deane studied medicine and trained at Yale, Chicago Medical School, Mayo Clinic, Northwestern, and Harvard, and earned his MBA from Anderson Graduate Schools. As a consultant for hospitals, public and private organizations, as well as governments, Dr. Deane combines systems analysis and other management tools with the principles of good medical practice to diagnose and effectively treat sick systems, such as healthcare. Dr. Deane was Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at The Children’s Hospital of San Diego, The University of Chicago, and The University of New Mexico. He was also Director of Center for Healthcare Policy at Texas Public Policy Foundation and member of Board of Directors of New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange.
