Douglas Borgas was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1981. When he was ten, his family moved to the United States — a new language, a new country, and a new way of being a kid, all at once. He learned early what it feels like to be the one who doesn't know the words yet, standing outside something everyone else seems to understand. He's never entirely forgotten it, and it shows up in everything he does.

He's married with two children, and he runs his life by three simple rules, in order: God first, family, then everything else. Twenty-five years of keeping that order, he says, has been the steadiest thing in his life and his family's — not because it made things easy, but because it settled what came first when things got hard.

He speaks, loves, and lives like nobody is an accident. Not a mistake, not a coincidence, not an afterthought. He isn't a public speaker and doesn't pretend to be one — the speaking happens at work, on the street, in line somewhere, in whatever conversation the day hands him. Ordinary ways, ordinary days, whoever is in front of him.

He's an entrepreneur who loves cars and makes a living from them. He's not a pastor or a theologian, and he writes as what he is — a working man who takes the questions seriously and would rather test something honestly than be told what to think.

His company gives to nonprofits serving people in need, both here in his own community and beyond it. "God blesses us so we can be a blessing."
