About the Author
My children’s books grew from a family ritual: improvised bedtime stories for one girl and three boys. Those in-between moments—when the house is quiet and a child leans in—were the perfect time to mix a little reality with a lot of imagination.
I write with a simple aim: use stories to grow character. Curiosity, empathy, resilience, integrity—these are skills as much as virtues, and reading together is how we practice them.
My Favorite Word in a Bottle turns a message-in-a-bottle mystery into a lively conversation about words and wonder. Talking with Mau invites even shy speakers to share feelings in small, safe steps.
I was born in Limerick, Ireland, later lived in the USA and the UK, and now enjoy life in Helsinki, Finland. After many years in academia, I continue creating books that help families read, talk, and grow together.
