Dr. Hasan Ahmed is an academic scholar, and Asian Ameri-can Author. He taught as an adjunct assistant professor at LaGuardia Community College from Spring 2006 to Spring 2019 and as a lecturer at the University at Albany since fall 2019. He has published several academic papers in prestigious international and USA academic journals, as well as a Bengali novel in Bangladesh. Additionally, he has written a few English poems. His poem, “The Sky Hangs in Her Braids,” was awarded when he was student at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Old West-bury.
Dr. Ahmed has had a very successful academic and leadership career. He earned his Ph.D. in international business. Additionally, he completed a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University, where he learned effective teaching methods and co-authored an aca-demic paper based on his experience at Harvard’s courses. Dr. Ahmed also served as the student government presi-dent at LaGuardia C. College and as Secretary of the Inter-national Honors Society, Phi Theta Kappa, at the same in-stitution. He was also an exchange student studying Inter-national Finance and Marketing in China with a scholarship from the SUNY College at Old Westbury. He also went to study a short summer course in England as an exchange student, and the topic was "Shakespeare in England."
Dr. Ahmed is a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the New York State Professional, Scien-tific and Technical Association (PS&T), and was a member of the City University of New York (CUNY) Professors Association, Professional Staff Congress (PSC). Addition-ally, Dr. Ahmed is the founder and chair of the Noitik Shokti Foundation, which he established in Bangladesh.
