Dustin Gross writes books for readers who like their stories honest, funny, fast-moving, and just a little dangerous. He has been writing for more than twenty-five years and, after spending years building a substantial body of work, began bringing much of that back catalog into publication, including revised and updated editions of earlier titles. That long writing history helps explain a catalog that spans genres, tones, and subjects while remaining unmistakably his own.
His work crosses genres freely, spanning middle-grade fantasy, gritty adult fiction, thrillers, Westerns, irreverent humor, faith-based nonfiction, practical guides, and strange little books that probably should not work but somehow do. Whether he is writing about rabbits carrying ancient burdens, broken people trying to hold onto faith, chaotic adventurers with catastrophically bad judgment, haunted places, violent kingdoms, cheap watches, world religions, or travel disasters waiting to happen, Dustin approaches every book with the same basic promise: no filler, no fake polish, and no boring pages.
His fiction is built around flawed people, sharp humor, real consequences, moral gray areas, and the kind of momentum that keeps readers turning pages long after they intended to stop. Some stories are ridiculous. Some are brutal. Some are deeply serious. Quite a few manage to be all three.
At the center of the work is a simple belief: stories should entertain first, hit hard when they need to, and leave readers feeling as though they spent time with people who were complicated, imperfect, and real.
Dustin has never had much interest in staying inside a single genre. If a story is worth telling, he writes it. That philosophy has produced a steadily growing catalog ranging from absurd comedy and adventure to historical fiction, dark speculative stories, thrillers, fantasy, nonfiction, and books that are considerably harder to explain in a single sentence.
