Elizabeth M. Stevens was born on Itazuki AFB, Japan in 1961. She lived in New Mexico, Alaska, and Maryland before landing in Dallas, Texas, where she received her Master of Music in piano performance from Southern Methodist University. She has taught piano in the Dallas area for over thirty years and is an active member and past president of Plano Music Teachers Association. Elizabeth is the proud mama of three pups: Happy, a pup in and narrator of her first book, The Porch Puppies; Callie, his adopted sister and fellow star in the book; and Shelby, who was adopted into the family after the abandoned pups in The Porch Puppies found their forever homes.
