Eric Ebert Smith is a Christian Futurist, amateur astronomer, space and science enthusiast, and, much like Argo, a lover of old science-fiction movies. Eric Smith spent over three decades in California law enforcement as a police officer, detective sergeant, lieutenant, and, finally, as chief of police, retiring in 2021 as the commander of a state police academy. Concurrently, Chief Smith served for over 32 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve as a Maritime Law Enforcement Specialist. Chief Smith was recalled to active duty several times, including during Operation Desert Shield/Storm on September 11, 2001, and finally during the Deepwater Horizon disaster. During 9/11, Chief Warrant Officer Smith and his Sea Marshal Teams conducted over 6000 boardings on high-risk foreign vessels entering U.S. ports over four years.
