Evander Lomke is president of The American Mental Health Foundation (AMHF), one of the first nonprofit research organizations of its kind. The directors of AMHF are dedicated to the welfare of people suffering from emotional problems, with an emphasis on the developmentally disabled and elders. Before heading AMHF, where he established its publishing arm, AMHF Books (counted among the publishers of Erich Fromm), Lomke was the editor of 1,200 books, including the writings of two recent U.S. Presidents and the landmark "Encyclopedia of American Literature."
