I am a novelist and playwright. I am also a journalist with over 1,000 published articles, reviews, essays, op-eds, and other non fiction published in the last 40 years. I have a background in Military Intelligence and write fiction and drama about people in military, intelligence and similar occupations. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I am a member of the Military Writers Society of America, the Association for Intelligence Officers, and the Military Writers Society of America. I have attended more than 100 science fiction conventions and am often a panelist. I am a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop (Fiction). . I served in the US Army Security Agency for four years, in Vietnam and then Germany. I spent 21 years in the Security industry which provides some of the background for MELTDOWN. My produced stage plays are MARLOWE: An Elizabethan Tragedy and Memorial Day. My novel "The Shenandoah Spy" has received over a dozen favorable reviews. My latest novels are "The Queen of Washington" and "MELTDOWN". In recent years most of my attention has been directed towards the motion picture and television industry. I have written award-winning screenplays for CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE and The All American, the film I am working on now. Details and updates on my IMBd page. During the COVID crisis I wrote a long multi-genre novel, STARMEN and hope to have that raedy for publiction soon. I am also planning to expand and revise some of my previous work. That's the thing about being a writer; you never stop learning and trying to improve your work. After a long period of illness I am back. In 2024 I published STARMEN, a long multi-genre magical realism epic that has won many five star reviews. Currently I have an illustrated memoir about my first two years in the US Army Security Agency (1967-69), a period that includes my tour in an airborne radio direction finding (ARDF) company during the Vietnam War. This book has been enhanced with contributions from other ASA soldiers and research into recently declassified Top Secret documents.
