Greg Smith spent much of his career as a graphic designer and art director in the publishing industry, where he learned that telling a good story often begins with knowing how to make people look—and keep looking. These days, he’s doing much the same thing with words.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Greg now lives in Florida with his wife, and their All-American dog, Dixie.
His books span crime, military action, political suspense, and thrillers, but there is a common thread running through them: ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, forced to make difficult choices when the stakes are anything but ordinary.
The Kramer & Shadow Crime Series grew from Greg’s concern over the hidden world of dog fighting and his desire to bring that brutal blood sport into the light. His political thriller, The Last Ghost, takes him into a very different world—where power, secrets, and the consequences of decisions made behind closed doors can reach far beyond the people who make them.
Greg brings his visual background to his writing, creating stories that are meant to be seen as much as read. He likes his characters complicated, his plots unpredictable, and his readers turning pages long after they intended to go to bed.
