They say every picture tells a story. In my case every story paints a picture of the characters in my life, living in my heart, hiding in my mind. As mysterious HJ Furl, Daniel Furl and, now, Harriet-Jacqui I write allsorts of genre: dark, red hot, erotic romances, women's fiction. open door erotica, intense drama, biological sci-fi, horror even my fantasies, laced with a liberal dash of intrigue.

I live in England with the love of my life. I learned to write fiction online, and published my first book three years later. These days I am treasurer of an established writers’ circle that just celebrated its 85th anniversary. Founder member of a read-&-write group that meets on Thursday mornings in the chapel of a lovely hotel. An active contributor to a vast online group of scribes, a few of whom meet face-to-face at an art café near the mouth of my father’s beloved River Arun. And occasional panellist for an online and live self-publishing festival for lively authors held in Aylesbury.

When I am not writing, I love to ramble the beautiful countryside with Ailsa or tend my bounteous allotment. I thrill to all tastes in music, theatre, films. Sadly, I only read gripping books, like Animal by Lisa Taddeo and If Only by Vigdis Hjorth, as I do tend to get bored rather easily.
