I am Hà Minh, a Tày trans woman self-taught visual artist and poet. My practice spans writing, drawing, painting, collage, soft sculpture, and poetic animation. Art-making is how I nurture my childlike curiosity through an innate maternal instinct. In the process of teaching myself visual and literary arts, I create a safe creative haven where the different, the small, the abandoned are celebrated and encouraged to grow.
I work in iterative, self-referential cycles of rebirth and self-birth, where my materials, my body, and my environment become one. In that unified state of being, I take ownership of my physical form, blend into the natural world, and transcend it altogether to connect with my tribal ancestors, my queer siblings of the past and present, and all those marginalized in every corner of the world.
