Howard of Warwick: the world's best selling author of medieval crime comedy.
The Chronicles of Brother Hermitage tell of a young monk, clearly the archetype for many characters down the centuries.
However, those later figures seem to know what they were doing. Hermitage is more like Cadfael meets Clouseau.
There are now 38 Chronicles of Brother Hermitage, 3 historical "re-creations", a little something for Christmas and even some free short stories.
He has even won a Writers’ Guild/BBC prize for making up stories.
