J. R. Geraci grew up in Sayville, New York, surrounded by a large family. She began writing at nine years old and has since written for numerous publications. Geraci spent two years in Vanuatu serving in the Peace Corps. While there, she formed a women's leadership group and spearheaded a project to help fund and install a library at the local school. She currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband.
