J. Stark Davis, raised in Morehead, Kentucky, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1983 with a degree in International Affairs. His active-duty Air Force career included roles as an Airborne Weapons Director on the E-3 aircraft, with deployments to Saudi Arabia, Iceland, and Okinawa, as well as serving as an Instructor Weapons Director and Wing Executive Officer. In the Air Force Reserve, he worked with an F-4 unit that upgraded to F-16's, and as a USAF Academy Admissions Liaison Officer Director.
While in the reserves, he earned a law degree, established a private law practice, and served as a youth and family minister. After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, he served as an AFJROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor in two public schools, and then taught criminal justice and law at two Christian universities. Married since 1988 to his wife Julie, they have four children.
