Jim Whitelaw is a Scottish author and founder of Swackie Ltd publishing. After a career largely spent at sea and later in the oil and gas industry, Jim discovered writing during the Covid pandemic and hasn't looked back since.
His books span two passions: faith and life experience. The Biblical Character Series is a deeply personal exploration of Old Testament figures and what their lives mean for believers today, while his memoirs draw on a life lived at sea and the lessons that come with it — honest, warm, and written with the same plain-spoken voice that runs through everything he produces.
Jim was raised in a Christian home in the northeast of Scotland, where he still lives with his six grandchildren nearby. He writes mostly what is on his heart — and it shows.
